MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAININGS
Both of these nationally accredited trainings, developed by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, are great for employers, managers and staff; first responders and care professionals; caretakers, friends and family members; faith leaders and ministers; advocates in training; and any concerned citizen who wishes to be better prepared for both crisis and non-crisis situations.**
YOUTH VERSON
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in youth. This 6.5-hour training gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to children and adolescents (ages 6-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem, and help connect them to the appropriate care. (Especially recommended for parents, teachers, school staff, coaches, camp counselors, youth leaders and others who work with youth)
ADULT VERSION
Adult Mental Health First Aid teaches participants how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in adults. This 8-hour training provides the skills to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem, and to help connect them to the appropriate care.
